“Frozen” Wins Album Sales Race, Lindsey Sterling is Top Debut

Separated from the pack by a healthy margin, the “Frozen” soundtrack claimed a thirteenth week at number one on the Billboard 200.

The enduring album now joins a club of just 39 albums that have claimed thirteen or more #1s on Billboard’s weekly album sales chart. With 106,000 new sales this week, it also celebrates a new cumulative total of 2.6 million (2.2 million of which came in 2014).

Unable to threaten “Frozen,” Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” nonetheless got off to a solid start. With 56,000 in weekly sales, the crossover violinist’s album was the week’s #2 seller and #1 new release.

Ray LaMontagne’s new “Supernova” followed with 40,000, while Passion’s “Take it All” leveraged its 30,000 sales for 4th place. Iggy Azalea’s “The New Classic” claimed fifth on the strength of 23,000 sales.

Also in the top ten: Pharrell’s “G I R L” (22,000, #6), Future’s “Honest” (20,000, #7), Timeflies’ “After Hours” (20,000, new, #8), Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” (17,000, #9) and Whitechapel’s “Our Endless War” (16,000, #10).
