“The Voice” Confirms Adam, Blake Will Join Gwen, Pharrell on Season 7

While the latest NBC press release focuses on the news that Gwen Stefani will be coaching on season seven of “The Voice,” the bigger story is that Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be staying put.

Stefani’s participation, after all, had already been revealed in a story by TMZ. That Levine and Shelton are not taking a rumored break, however, absolutely represents news.

The news that they are continuing on the show means that the season seven panel is official. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams will serve as coaches.

Regular fall coach Christina Aguilera, meanwhile, was confirmed to return for season eight next spring. It is unclear how that will affect the involvement of Shakira, who had served as the panel’s sole female voice in the past two spring seasons.
