The Pretty Reckless Can’t Top Joan Jett’s Record, Chevelle Hits #1

Responding to Headline Planet’s story about her band tying Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ long-standing record on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, The Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen Tweeted, “In good company with Joan Jett.”

She will remain in the company of the iconic rock performer. Her band’s streak atop the Mainstream Rock chart ends at five weeks.

According to Billboard, Chevelle’s “Take Out the Gunman” overtakes TPR’s “Heaven Knows” for number one on the chart dated April 26, 2014.

Unable to score a sixth week at number one, “Heaven Knows” settles for a tie with the record set by Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” for most weeks at number one for a song with female lead vocals.

“Heaven Knows” began its record-tying five week stint on the March 22 edition of Billboard’s chart.

Other songs in the top five of Billboard’s weekly Mainstream Rock Songs chart include Linkin Park’s “Guilty All The Same (featuring Rakim)” (3), Volbeat’s “Dead But Rising” (4) and Onyx’ “Torn to Pieces” (5).
