First Look: “Scandal” Addresses Explosive Threat in “Flesh & Blood”

Just as the Olivia Pope & Associates team began celebrating its destruction of B613, Command Jake Ballard emerged to break the tragically ironic news.

Believing herself to be on the side of good, Olivia Pope’s actions potentially “just killed the president.”

By crippling B613 as it prepared to defend the president against a bomb threat from Olivia’s deadly mother Maya, OP&A unknowingly paved a far easier road to destruction. Without surveillance and advantageous positioning, the B613 team can no longer be certain in its ability to contain the threat.

The fear of that bomb threat will serve as a backdrop for next week’s “Flesh & Blood” edition of “Scandal.”

ABC offers the following synopsis of “Flesh & Blood,” which marks the penultimate episode of the show’s third season:

“Flesh and Blood” – A security breach calls for an all hands on deck situation at OPA. Fitz’s re-election campaign becomes stalled and he considers going against Olivia’s advice. Meanwhile, Adnan and Maya continue to plot their next move, on ABC’s “Scandal,” THURSDAY, APRIL 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Offering promotional support for “Flesh & Blood,” ABC also issued production photos from the episode (click thumbnails for full-sized images):
