Naughty Boy & Sam Smith’s “La La La” Shoots into Top 20

Remember when Headline Planet addressed the rise of two tracks featuring breakout artist Sam Smith?

The rise continues.

Naughty Boy’s “La La La (featuring Sam Smith)” continues working its way up the iTunes single sales chart. The song cracked the top fifty at the time of last week’s write-up, and it has since moved up to #20 on the US version of iTunes’ definitive sales chart.

And while it actually slipped a place in the weekly rankings this week (21-22), it gained a significant number of Top 40 radio spins.

This song’s US run is definitely not over.

The same could likely be said of Disclosure’s “Latch (featuring Sam Smith).” Presently #33 at radio (with an increasing spin count), the acclaimed track has risen to number 66 on the iTunes sales chart.

Smith will gain additional exposure as a solo artist when he appears on the March 29 edition of “Saturday Night Live.”
