Demi’s “Neon Lights” Hits Top 10 at Radio, Rixton, American Authors Surge

It might be losing ground on the iTunes single sales chart, but when it comes to radio, Demi Lovato’s latest single is burning up like “Neon Lights.”

“Neon Lights,” the third single from her “DEMI” album, officially crossed into the top ten at Top 40 radio this week. According to Mediabase, it was the ninth most spun song for the period between March 13 and March 19.

It was previously positioned at number twelve.

Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” quickly surged past Lorde’s “Team” to claim the number one spot at top 40. Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J)” trails the Lorde song in third position, while Bastille’s “Pompeii” and Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty (featuring 2 Chainz)” round out the top five.

As far as notable gainers go, American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” surged from seventeenth to eleventh this week. Ellie Goulding’s “Burn,” which is on the way down, represents the song’s only hurdle to entering the top ten.

Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” continues to make moves; it climbed five places to #19 over the measured period.

Rixton’s “Me & My Broken Heart,” which has been one of Top 40 radio’s most added songs in recent weeks, advanced seven places to become the format’s 31st most spun song.
