Wayne Knight Dismisses Newman Death Hoax: “I am Alive and Well”

Hello, Newman!

Thanks to Facebook’s new “trending” feature, the latest celebrity death hoax gained considerable traction despite its thin construction.

But rest assured – actor Wayne Knight, who famously played Newman on “Seinfeld,” is alive.

“Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but….I am alive and well,” wrote the actor in response to rumors that he had died in a car accident.

Using photos from a previous crash site, an Us Magazine parody website claimed the actor was killed when his car was hit by a semi-tractor trailer. The story made waves within social media, but most credible news sites wisely stayed away from it.
