Phillip Phillips’ “Raging Fire” Sales Surge After “American Idol”

“Home,” his “American Idol” coronation song, went onto become the most ubiquitous such record in the show’s history.

A return appearance on “Idol” has sent the newest single from season eleven winner Phillip Phillips “Raging” up the sales chart.

Following the singer’s performance on Thursday’s “Idol” results show, his new single “Raging Fire,” which was previously positioned in the bottom half of the Top 50, has advanced into the Top 10 of the iTunes Single Sales chart.

While it will need radio play to secure a long run–and come within reach of the success garnered by “Home” and follow-up single “Gone, Gone, Gone”–the impressive iTunes performance is nothing at which to sneeze.

Irish act Kodaline, which also performed on Thursday’s “Idol,” is making iTunes moves of its own. As of press time, its “All I Want” had reached number 64 on the iTunes Single Sales chart.
