CBS Brings Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan Back for ACM Awards

CBS’ answer to ABC’s magnetic Brad Paisley-Carrie Underwood pairing will be back for another round.

The network announced Monday that country superstars Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will return as hosts for the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards, which broadcasts from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 6, 2014.

Shelton and Bryan, presently the biggest male stars in country, received strong reviews for their work as co-hosts at the 2013 broadcast. That ceremony, which was Bryan’s first as host, marked Blake Shelton’s third consecutive stint on stage.

His previous two were alongside Reba McEntire.

With McEntire no longer hosting and CBS well aware of ABC’s success in booking Paisley and Underwood as its regular CMA Awards hosts, it is only logical that The Eye would want to establish a recurring, superstar tandem of its own.

While Shelton and Bryan lead the festivities at the MGM Grand, breakthrough country act Florida-Georgia Line will be hosting the “ACM Fan Jam” from the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
