“New Girl” Ratings Improve, “The Mindy Project” Also Improves

Unless “New Girl” converts millions of its post-Super Bowl watchers into regular fans, its days as a hit series are over.

That does not mean every ratings report will involve misery.

Rebounding from this week’s viewership low, Tuesday’s “New Girl” drew a slightly stronger 3.56 million viewer average. Its 1.9 adults 18-49 rating was up 12% from last week’s 1.7.

With a stronger “New Girl” lead-in, “The Mindy Project” also made gains. Tuesday’s segment drew a 1.4 with 2.65 million viewers.

Gains were not the only story for FOX’s Tuesday. Earlier in the night, “Dads” sank to a 1.2 with 3.18 million viewers. “Brooklyn Nine Nine,” meanwhile, matched last week’s 1.5 (though it did improve to 3.71 million viewers and thus again reigned as FOX’s most-watched Tuesday comedy).
