Lady Gaga’s “SNL” Ratings Match Kerry Washington Episode

Lady Gaga’s “ARTPOP” is pacing for a weaker opening week than Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz,” and if preliminary “Saturday Night Live” ratings hold, her episode’s performance with adults 18-49 will also fall slightly short of Miley’s.

Gaga’s episode did, however, noticeably outdraw the Cyrus edition in the total households column.

According to NBC, Saturday’s edition of “SNL,” which featured Gaga as the host and musical guest, garnered a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating (on the local people meters) and a 4.9 overnight household number. While the latter tops the 4.5 delivered by Cyrus’ episode, the former number falls short of the 2.7 posted by that October 5 episode.

Both the household and adults 18-49 numbers tie those delivered by the November 2 episode, which featured Kerry Washington as host and Eminem as musical guest. The episodes’ shared 4.9 household number ranks as the best of the season and the largest since Justin Timberlake hosted this past March.

Host Josh Hutcherson and musical guest HAIM topline next week’s show.
