Kat Robichaud, Will Champlin Saved as “The Voice” Reveals Top 12

Implementing a “steal” in the Knockout Rounds came with an obvious pro and an obvious con.

On the one hand, NBC’s “The Voice” would get to retain four additional singers for the Live Playoffs.

On the other hand, since the show was still moving forward with only 12 finalists (out of 20 playoff performers), an additional four were to be eliminated on Thursday night’s results show.

Luckily for Ray Boudreaux, Kat Robichaud, Josh Logan and Will Champlin, the coaches protected them from the night’s excess of eliminations.

Keeping consistent with previous seasons, the top two vote-getters from each team, based on the Monday and Tuesday performance shows, automatically advanced into the Top 12. Each coach then selected one additional contestant–out of the remaining three–to join that final group of twelve.

The results played out as follows:

Team Blake Shelton
Audience Pick: Austin Jenckes
Audience Pick: Cole Vosbury
Coach’s Pick: Ray Boudreaux
Eliminated: Nic Hawk & Shelbie Z

Team Cee Lo Green
Audience Pick: Caroline Pennell
Audience Pick: Jonny Gray
Coach’s Pick: Kat Robichaud
Eliminated: Tamara Chauniece & Amber Nicole

Team Christina Aguilera
Audience Pick: Jacquie Lee
Audience Pick: Matthew Schuler
Coach’s Pick: Josh Logan
Eliminated: Olivia Henken & Stephanie Anne Johnson

Team Adam Levine
Audience Pick: James Wolpert
Audience Pick: Tessanne Chin
Coach’s Pick: Will Champlin
Eliminated: Preston Pohl & Grey
