“X Factor” Delivers Weak Ratings Against CMA Awards

Update: Facing ABC’s monster Country Music Association Awards telecast, which drew an impressive 4.7 adults 18-49 rating with 16.6 million viewers, FOX’s “The X Factor” could only muster a 1.5 with 4.5 million.

Last week it was “The Voice.” This week it was the CMA Awards.

At least, FOX had better hope so.

After dipping to an abysmal 3.7 for last week’s two-hour telecast, which competed against NBC’s “The Voice” in hour two, FOX’s “The X Factor” again struggled this week.

Up against ABC’s airing of the CMAs, which drew a 9.7 overnight rating from 8-11PM (up 11% over last year’s Thursday telecast), “Factor” slipped to a mere 3.5 for its top 13 performance show.

Though it is clear this season’s “X Factor” is suffering from depleted interest, it will be interesting to see how the show fares in the coming weeks, when it will air without competition from a rival music broadcast.
