“Scandal” Hot Streak Continues; Ratings Improve Again

While the series high mark for “The Big Bang Theory” overshadows all other ratings data, ABC is in possession of a great little story courtesy “Scandal.”

A modest ratings performer since its debut last season, “Scandal” has been riding a buzzworthy storyline to a ratings hot streak. It has shown rare ratings growth in recent weeks, and that continued Thursday.

The episode won the 10PM timeslot among adults 18-49 with a 2.8 rating, which represents a 17% gain from the last original telecast. Total viewership was 8.4 million.

While “Scandal” does receive support from flagship “Grey’s Anatomy,” the latter is no longer delivering monster ratings–just a 3.1 and 9.2 million for second place this week–and “Scandal” therefore deserves ample credit for its ratings surge.
