“Skyfall” Leads Weekend Box Office, “Lincoln” Nears Million Mark

The dominant winner at the Friday box office, “Skyfall”‘s weekend victory was never in question, and it lived up to the hype with an impressive $87.8 million in receipts this weekend.

That easily makes for the largest all-time opening weekend for a Bond film.

With “Skyfall” so dominantly in front, even the impressive second week from “Wreck-It Ralph” ($33.1 million) is left looking miniscule. “Flight” ($15.1 million), “Argo” ($6.7 million) and “Taken 2” ($4 million) completed the top five.

On the platform front, all eyes were on “Lincoln,” which opened to $900,000 from 11 screens.
