Linda McMahon Again Fails in US Senate Campaign; Chris Murphy to Win

A Senatorial Seat simply does not appear to be in the cards for Linda McMahon.

Despite running a very costly campaign to claim one of Connecticut’s seats in the US Senate, McMahon lost handily to Richard Blumenthal in 2010.

Undeterred, McMahon pressed on with another expensive campaign for a seat in this year’s election. The race, which put her head-to-head with Chris Murphy, was deemed a more winnable one for McMahon, and early polls even forecast a victory for the former WWE Chief Executive Officer.

But momentum quickly shifted towards Murphy, and in the days leading up to Tuesday’s election, it appeared she would again fall short in the race.

She did. Multiple media outlets quickly called the race for Murphy; at press time, Murphy maintained a convincing 54-45% lead.
