Dana White: Despite UFC 150 Controversy; Nate Diaz Gets Next UFC Title Shot

Controversy will not be enough to produce a third consecutive fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson and former champion Frankie Edgar.

UFC President Dana White confirmed definitively at the post-UFC 150 press conference that Nate Diaz will get the next crack at Henderson, despite widespread criticism that Edgar was “robbed” in his bout with Henderson.

White would not provide a detailed assessment of the UFC 150 main-event bout between Henderson and Edgar, but he did acknowledge the controversy and the closeness of the fight. Nonetheless, he is not going to give Edgar a second consecutive opportunity to avenge a loss to Benson Henderson.

After dominating Donald Cerrone in the co-main-event of last year’s Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem show, Nate Diaz solidified his status as the number one contender with an even more dominant win over Jim Miller on UFC on FOX 3.
