WWE Teases Charlie Sheen Summerslam Appearance, Lawler Forgets RVD

WWE made no effort to hide its excitement in featuring Charlie Sheen as a social media ambassador on Monday’s WWE RAW, and following the third and final of his Skype segments, announcers Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler teased a Summerslam appearance for the actor.

The duo referenced the possibility after Sheen challenged Daniel Bryan, whom he insulted earlier in the broadcast, to find him the next time he appears in Los Angeles. As the Summerslam pay-per-view will bring the WWE crew to that city, the announcers pondered aloud whether a confrontation between Bryan and Sheen would take place at the event.

It should be noted that this was played up as more of a longshot tease than a hint of a future match, so it is unlikely WWE and Sheen have actually confirmed such an appearance. WWE would undoubtedly see a Charlie Sheen Summerslam appearance as a major coup, but it is unclear that a deal facilitating such an appearance is a realistic possibility.

— During RAW’s main-event, Jerry Lawler expressed certainty that John Cena was the first Money in the Bank winner to ever schedule his guaranteed title shot ahead of time.

Lawler, of course, was ignoring the fact that Rob Van Dam formally scheduled his Money in the Bank title shot for the One Night Stand pay-per-view, at which he defeated John Cena to win the belt.

While it is unsurprising that WWE opted to ignore Rob Van Dam’s existence in its legacy, it was odd for Lawler to so declare an inaccuracy with such emphatic certainty.
