New England sports reporter Jackie Pepper is citing an inside source with what could prove to be a major update on the Dwight Howard situation.
According to Pepper, “The source says the Lakers have informed one player that he might be part of the package deal [for Dwight Howard] and that he could be traded at any moment.”
The reporter was careful to alert readers of her website and Twitter feed that no deal has yet been reached between the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. In justifying her post, she claims, “The source is legit, so I went with it. Situation seems like it could go either way.”
By all accounts, both the Lakers and Brooklyn Nets remain committed to trading for the disgruntled Magic center, and given that the LA Lakers have at least one key asset in center Andrew Bynum, it is far from unfathomable that the Lakers and Magic are able to make something work.
