“Greek” Star Set to Join NBC’s “The Office”

With a number of regulars departing as NBC’s “The Office” continues its de facto reboot, TV Line says that “Greek” and “Hot Tub Time Machine” star Clark Duke could be entering the mix as a regular.

Duke, who first gained notice in a web series with Michael Cera, would play an employee at the focal Scranton office, although further details on his character have not been revealed. Talks are nearing final stages.

“The Office,” which lost star Steve Carell after season seven, will be waving goodbye to Mindy Kaling and Paul Lieberstein for its upcoming ninth season. BJ Novak will no longer be a regular cast member, and Rainn Wilson is expected to leave at some point to launch his spin-off series.

That means newer names like Catherine Tate and now, apparently, Clark Duke will be responsible for helping the aging series stay relevant as the center of NBC’s Thursday night lineup.
