Despite Graduation, “Glee” Bringing Back Most Characters for Season 4

Since its third season was to culminate with the graduation of many key characters, “Glee” was the subject of intense scrutiny this past year. Though some characters like Darren Criss’ Blaine were comically–and unrealistically–outed as juniors in order to justify keeping them around next year, others, including key names like Cory Monteith’s Finn, Lea Michele’s Rachel and Chris Colfer’s Kurt, were due to graduate in storyline.

Discussion over who would return next year often overshadowed discussion of actual storylines on the show.

While most assumed the aforementioned leads would stick around in some capacity while supporting names like Dianna Agron and Mark Salling would probably bid the series farewell, a new Deadline support says all series regulars have been invited back for season four. All will not appear on each episode, perhaps not even the majority of them, but those who have fallen in love with the graduating characters should get their fix next year as well.

The report notes that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Jayma Mays, Dianna Agron, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr and Heather Morris will all likely be back, while Chord Overstreet, who returned midway through last season after being dropped at the end of season two, is in talks to return as a regular as well.

Deadline notes that in addition to storyline reasons, some of the aforementioned cast members will miss occasional episodes to pursue outside projects.
