CBS Confirms that Cancelled Drama Will Return

Giving official confirmation to long-running speculation, CBS confirmed this weekend that it has ordered a second season of “Unforgettable.”

The Poppy Montgomery starrer was not picked up for a second season in time for the May upfronts, and the only reasonable assumption was that the show was officially cancelled.

As it turns out, CBS decided it still has interest in the series. Thirteen new “Unforgettable” episodes will air next summer.

“Hey ?#Unforgettable? fans. It’s official, the series will return to ?#CBS? for summer 2013,” read an official Tweet from CBS.

The first season of “Unforgettable” was not a terrible performer in the ratings by most standards, but it was not a standout in the adults 18-49 demographic and did lose a sizable chunk of its weekly lead-in. Given that situation, it was not a logical contender for a second season on the fall roster, although the network apparently thinks it can get some value out of the show as a summer series.
