Justin Bieber’s “Believe” Album Sales Look Strong, Best Numbers of 2012?

Billboard has released its first tracking for the opening week of Justin Bieber’s new “Believe” album, and things are looking good for the teen heartthrob.

The very preliminary estimates suggest Bieber’s latest will open in the 400-500,000 range, a mark that would easily set a career high for the pop superstar. His previous best week came in April 2010, when his “My World 2.0” moved 291,000 copies in its second week of release.

If “Believe” lives up to the current forecasts, it will also score the best debut week tally of 2012. Madonna’s “MDNA” currently holds that crown with 359,000.

Considerably less likely is that “Believe” scores the biggest single-week sales frame of the year. Adele’s “21” moved 730,000 copies the week of her Grammy sweep, and that total appears unattainable for “Believe” at this point.
