WWE Superstar Says UFC Can Be “Boring,” Needs More Entertainment

WWE usually sticks to a “we’re in separate businesses” line when asked about UFC, but in a candid interview associated with his “Inside Out” movie, Triple H took the leading mixed martial arts promotion to task.

During what appears to be the same Moviefone interview session that produced his mockery of Goldberg and Hulk Hogan, Triple H dismissed the idea that WWE needs to evolve to keep up with the rise of mixed martial arts.

“I don’t see us needing to evolve to what UFC does because quite frankly sometimes the fights are long and boring, guys lying around and sometimes the fights are fast and over in five seconds,” explains Hunter. “I’ve always thought one of the things about us, if you look at us solely from a sports standpoint, is that we always give you a good show. We’re never going to give you a crap game.”

He added that Brock Lesnar’s edgy UFC 100 promo proved how effective fighters can be when they break the “fighters who walk in in T-shirts and shorts and just stand there and then they fight and then they win and then they go ‘thanks, I’d like to thank my sponsors’ and then they leave” mold.

He also cited Floyd Mayweather’s sentiment that his big mouth is what attracts dollars.
