WWE’s Vince McMahon on Meeting with UFC’s Dana White: No TV Partnership

Speaking on Thursday’s investor conference call, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon ruled out speculation that he and UFC President Dana White are considering partnering on an upcoming television network.

“Absolutely not,” said McMahon of the prospect of working with UFC to create some sort of combat sports network.

Throughout the call, WWE’s executives maintained that plans for WWE’s own television network, however, remain intact.

Prior to the question about the partnership, McMahon expressed no concern about rumors that UFC, too, wants to launch a network. He reiterated the line about the two organizations being in different businesses, before noting that the UFC apparently stumbled in a recent attempt to get its potential network gonig.

Regarding his much-reported meeting with White, McMahon said that there were no plans to partner with UFC in any meaningful way and that the encounter was “more of a social [meeting] than anything else.”
