Sam Stout Scores Big KO, Joey Beltran Wins; UFC 131 Prelim Results

Brock Lesnar’s illness meant that UFC 131 would not have the marquee value of a Brock Lesnar vs. Junior dos Santos bout, but with Shane Carwin fighting in his absence, the number one contendership in the heavyweight division remains at stake.

But before that bout, as well as co-main-event Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes, hits the PPV airwaves, a number of intriguing preliminary matches were scheduled to air on Facebook and Spike TV.

Earlier bouts included recognizable names like Joey Beltran and Krzysztof Soszynski, and it all led up to the Spike TV airing of Sam Stout vs. Yves Edwards.

What happened? UFC 131 preliminary results follow (UFC 131 live PPV results will be posted on the main page):

Darren Elkins b. Michihiro Omigawa via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Joey Beltran b. Aaron Rosa via TKO (strikes) at 1:26 of Round Three
Dustin Poirier b. Jason Young via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
