5 Seconds of Summer’s “LIVESOS” Opens with 67K Sales

Like fellow new releases from Nicki Minaj and D’Angelo and the Vanguard, 5 Seconds of Summer’s “LIVESOS” scored an opening week sales total in excess of forecasts.

Per data from Nielsen SoundScan, the band’s live album moved 66,541 copes in its first week of release. Late into release week, publications like Hits Daily Double were forecasting a bow in the 55-60,000 range.

The album did not receive enough of a TEA+SEA boost to compete for a top ten spot on the revamped Billboard 200, but a opening week pure sales total of nearly 67,000 is clearly impressive for this project.

The album’s placement on that Billboard 200 chart will be revealed Thursday morning.
