Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” Projections Upgraded To 100K US Sales, 325-350K US Units

“thank u, next” is holding up well on the streaming front.

New projections have emerged for Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next.”

According to Hits Daily Double, the album is now expected to sell 95-105K in pure first-week US copies. With units from track sales and streams included, the album should generate 325-350K in total first week units.

The new pure sales projection only modestly tops the previously reported 90-100K figure. The consumption figure, however, represents a comfortable upgrade from the earlier 280-300K prediction.

The consumption upgrade speaks to the album holding up better than expected on the streaming front. As it currently stands, the album will set the single-week streaming record for an album by a female artist.

Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy,” the current record-holder, did just over 202 million US streams in its first week.
