The new Maddie & Tae will go for country radio adds in mid-May.

Maddie & Tae just released “Friends Don’t,” their first single since signing with Mercury Nashville.

The song will soon go for country radio adds.

According to Mercury, “Friends Don’t” will impact in conjunction with the May 14 add board.

Maddie Marlow and Taylor “Tae” Dye first rose to fame with “Girl In A Country Song.” The biting track reached #1 at country radio and earned a platinum certification in the United States.

Follow-up “Fly” did not reach the pinnacle of the country chart, but it did amass a gold certification.

Part of the duo’s debut album, those songs were released on Dot Records. The duo moves to Mercury for its sophomore album cycle.

“I hope our fans love this song as much as we do,” says Marlow. “Anything we ever do we have them in mind and want to always create music they can connect with. We have a big story to tell on this album, and ‘Friends Don’t’ is the beginning of it all.”

“It feels so good to be back with a song like this,” adds Dye. “This song is everything we’ve always been. Honest, vulnerable and confident. We can’t wait for our fans to hear the rest of the record!”
