Hits Daily Double has slightly upgraded its sales forecast for Fifth Harmony’s “7/27,” but there remains no question that Dierks Bentley’s “Black” will be the week’s best-selling new release in the US (and little question that it will be the week’s best-selling album, period).
Hits now expects Fifth Harmony’s sophomore album to sell 50-55,000 US copies during its inaugural week of release. That is slightly better than the 47-52,000 projection that was issued on Saturday.
Such a tally, nonetheless, remains markedly below the 80-85,000 expected of “Black.” It also remains below the 62,000 sold by Fifth Harmony’s 2015 debut “Reflection.”
With Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500) added to the pure sales totals, Hits projects 92-97,000 first week consumption units for “Black” and 72-77,000 for “7/27.” Neither will generate as much weekly consumption as Drake’s “Views,” which should post another six-figure weekly total.
