“Army,” the third single from Ellie Goulding’s “Delirium,” officially impacts US pop radio this Tuesday.
In advance of that impact, some pop stations have begun to provide the song with early airplay.
Trenton’s 94.5 PST is leading the way. The pop station played the song twelve times during the April 10-16 tracking week.
Chattanooga’s Hits 96 gave the song 7 weekly spins, while Omaha’s Channel 94.1 provided 6 tracking week plays.
A handful of other stations played the song twice during the most recent tracking week.
Pre-impact airplay is, of course, nothing new for “Army.” Back when there was evidently still confusion over whether “Army” or “Something In The Way You Move” would be the second “Delirium” single (the latter won out), “Army” cracked pop radio’s Top 60. It was the Mediabase pop panel’s #57 song for the December 27-January 2 tracking week.
Its airplay immediately vanished the week after, with “Something In The Way You Move” usurping all the focus.
