Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” is Pop’s Most-Added, One Direction Starts Well

The runner-up on last week’s pop radio add board rises to the top of the pack this week.

According to Mediabase, Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” grabs the most-added distinction on the strength of 58 monitored pop pickups. A second straight week of strong support assures the song, which is already a Top 30 pop hit, will continue making an impression at the format.

“Uptown Funk” will receive additional, high-profile exposure when Ronson and Mars on Saturday’s “SNL.”

One Direction’s new single “Night Changes” follows as the week’s second-most-added song. It won support from 54 stations in conjunction with its official radio impact.

Available to pop radio programmers for less than a week, 1D’s follow-up to “Steal My Girl” has thus far amassed 646 spins at the format.

Selena Gomez’ surging “The Heart Wants What it Wants,” which was last week’s most-added, grabs third place this week. It landed at 47 more stations this week.

OneRepublic’s “I Lived,” which is on the verge of entry into the pop top forty, is fourth-most-added courtesy a weekly pickup count of 42. Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer,” which is also poised for imminent entry into the top forty, claims the fifth-most-added label with 24 additional pickups.

Other songs on the pop radar this week: Eden xo’s Top 40 hit “Too Cool to Dance” (6th-most-added, 19 adds), I LOVE MAKONNEN’s newly impacting “Tuesday (featuring Drake)” (7th-most-added, 18 adds), Jessie J’s “Burnin’ Up (featuring 2 Chainz)” (7th-most-added, 18 adds), Shawn Mendes’ “Something Big” (9th-most-added, 14 adds), Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (10th-most-added, 12 adds).

While not one of the week’s ten-most-added tracks, Becky G’s “Can’t Stop Dancin'” did score some first week support. It scored 10 monitored adds in conjunction with its impact.
