Already a top thirty pop hit, Fergie’s “LA LOVE (la la)” continues expanding its support base at the radio format.
According to Mediabase, the comeback single won support from 43 monitored stations to rank as the week’s most-added pop song. The adds will keep “LA LOVE (la la)” on the fast track to success at America’s largest radio format.
Close behind on the weekly add board was David Guetta’s new “Dangerous (featuring Sam Martin).” The song, which officially reached the top 40 on this week’s published airplay chart before slipping to #41 on Tuesday’s rolling chart, picked up support from 42 monitored stations. With so many stations already on board, “Dangerous” will have no trouble working its way back up the airplay chart.
One Direction’s “Steal My Girl,” last week’s most-added track, claimed third place this week with 35 adds. Sam Smith’s red-hot “I’m Not the Only One” was fourth with 33 adds, while Nico and Vinz’ “In Your Arms,” the follow-up to smash “Am I Wrong,” ranked fifth with 29 adds.
Other popular choices for pop programmers included Ariana Grande and The Weeknd’s “Love Me Harder” (6th-most-added, 27 adds), Jessie J’s “Burnin’ Up (featuring 2 Chainz)” (6th, 27), Charli XCX’s “Break the Rules” (8th, 22), Kendrick Lamar’s “i” (9th, 19) and Alesso’s “Heroes (we could be – featuring Tove Lo)” (10th, 16).
The aforementioned Jessie J and Kendrick Lamar songs officially impacted pop this week.
Other new, formal additions to the pop mix included Hozier’s alt crossover attempt “Take Me to Church” and Lillywood & Robin Schulz’ international crossover attempt “Prayer in C.” Neither exploded out of the gate.
“Church,” which is holding at #12 on iTunes in the wake of Hozier’s performance on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live,” scored a modest ten adds from the pop format this week. “Prayer in C,” meanwhile, picked up only five.
