Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” Goes #1 at Country Radio

When it comes to Miranda Lambert’s career, few weeks have been better than this one.

Later this week, Lambert’s “Platinum” will debut atop the Billboard 200 album sales chart. It will represent her first number one on the overall Billboard 200 and her fourth consecutive number one country album.

And as of this weekend, the album’s lead single “Automatic” is #1 on Mediabase’s country airplay chart.

The song, which reached #3 on last week’s Billboard Country Airplay chart, has officially dethroned Luke Bryan’s juggernaut “Play it Again” to become the most-played song on Mediabase’s monitored country stations. Luke Bryan’s song, which still reached a slightly larger audience over the seven days ending June 7, slips to #2 on Mediabase’s chart.

With more plays than the Luke Bryan song but less overall chart points, Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music” holds at #3. Justin Moore’s “Lettin’ the Night Roll” (#4) and Jake Owen’s “Beachin'” (#5) complete the top five.

“Automatic” was not the only Miranda Lambert track to make waves at radio. “Somethin’ Bad,” her duet with Carrie Underwood, rockets into country radio’s Top 40 at #36.

Little Big Town’s new “Day Drinking” also debuts in the Top 40. Completely absent from the chart last week, it enters the fray this week at #39.
