“Lego Movie” Holds off “3 Days,” “Pompeii” at Box Office

“Does it almost feel like nothing’s changed at all?”

Neither new release “Pompeii” nor fellow newcomer “3 Days to Kill” was able to break the box office monotony; “The Lego Movie” will reign over the box office for a third consecutive week.

The blockbuster added $7.34 million to its haul Friday, which almost exceeded the combined totals for “Days” (#2, $4.01 million) and “Pompeii” (#3, $3.40 million). Since “Lego” always does its best work on Saturday, its full weekend total likely will be greater than the new releases’ combined sum.

“Robocop” landed in fourth with $2.60 million, while “About Last Night,” lacking the Valentine’s Day push, slid to fifth with $2.28 million.
