Lorde’s “Royals” Wins Another Grammy; Named Song of the Year

The song that featured the year’s Best Pop Solo performance was also the Song of the Year.

Lorde’s “Royals,” which she co-wrote with writing and production partner Joel Little, received the “big four” trophy during Sunday’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

The multi-format smash defeated Katy Perry’s “Roar,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love,” Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” and P!nk & Nate Ruess’ “Just Give Me a Reason” to win the coveted songwriting award.
