Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” Tops “Royals” for Record of the Year Grammy

Officially, five recordings were up for the Records of the Year Grammy.

For experts, however, the race was really about two numbers: Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky (featuring Pharrell & Nile Rodgers)” and Lorde’s “Royals.”

The former won.

While the latter rode its compelling writing to a Song of the Year trophy, the Daft Punk song was deemed the better all-around recording.

Other nominees included Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines (featuring Pharrell & TI).”
