Lorde Wins Best Pop Solo Performance Grammy for “Royals”

As she awaits news of who will win the Grammys for Record and Song of the Year, Lorde can at least take comfort in the fact that she will not be going home empty-handed.

The seventeen year old singer-songwriter, who made waves for delivering powerful vocals and zombie-inspired dance moves in her Grammys performance, scored the Best Pop Solo Performance Grammy for her breakthrough smash “Royals.”

A victorious and clearly nervous Lorde cited fellow nominees Sara Bareilles (“Brave”), Katy Perry (“Roar”), Justin Timberlake (“Mirrors”) and Bruno Mars (“When I Was Your Man”) as influences.
