“The Bridge” Ratings Fall, Viewership Hits Series Low

Echoing a pivotal scene in cult favorite “Se7en,” Wednesday’s episode of “The Bridge” was nothing if not exciting. Unfortunately, it struggled to attract an audience.

After rebounding to a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with an impressive 1.80 million viewers last week, this week’s edition delivered just a 0.6 with 1.50 million. The latter figure represents a viewership low for FX’s acclaimed new drama.

While its ratings are subject to weekly oscillation, the show’s audience figures have largely remained within a consistent ballpark. Whether that ballpark is impressive enough to earn a second season renewal remains to be seen, but it is roughly equivalent with the one occupied by FX’s renewed freshman series “The Americans.”

In fact, this Wednesday’s “Bridge” was the first in four weeks to draw a smaller crowd than the comparable “Americans” episode.
