J. Cole, Mac Miller Start Ahead of Kanye West in iTunes Album Sales Race

When all is said and done, Kanye West’s “Yeezus” will surely be the number one album this week, but releases from two fellow hip-hop acts are not going down without a fight.

As of press time, J. Cole’s “Born Sinner” and Mac Miller’s “Watching Music with the Sound Off” claimed the top two positions on iTunes’ Album Sales Chart, in that order, dropping West’s album back to third place. West will nonetheless outsell them in other channels–and could end up claiming the top spot on iTunes soon–but the early interest in the Cole and Miller albums confirms they will not be swallowed by the latest Kanye release.

The rest of the iTunes top ten looks as follows:

4 – Justin Timberlake – “The 20/20 Experience”
5 – Empire of the Sun – “Ice on the Dune”
6 – Bob Seger – “Ultimate Hits”
7 – Kelly Rowland – “Talk a Good Game”
8 – Hunter Hayes – “Hunter Hayes Encore (Deluxe Re-Release)”
9 – Daft Punk – “Random Access Memories”
10 – Falling in Reverse – “Fashionably Late”
