“Ours” might have received CMA Awards exposure as her next country single, but Taylor Swift’s “If This Was a Movie” will have the more impressive debut on tomorrow’s Hot 100 chart.
According to Billboard, “Movie” moved 162,000 downloads in its first week and will land at ten on the Overall Hot 100 chart. “Ours,” on sales of 148,000, will land at 13, still besting “Superman” (91,000 for 26).
All three singles, nonetheless, show Swift’s continued ability to move digital and physical copies of her music, even as the radio success of her mainstream singles slows. The three songs had previously been available on special deluxe editions of her “Speak Now” album but were not otherwise available for purchase until this past week.
Billboard notes that “Movie” gives Swift her eighth top 10 single debut, extending her pre-existing record. Lil Wayne, with six to his credit, is second.
Rihanna’s “We Found Love” will top the Hot 100 chart for its third consecutive week. It was also the top-selling digital record.
