Thursday was not a great night for broadcast television ratings, with most major shows suffering declines.
One key victim of the night was “Grey’s Anatomy,” which sank to a series low 3.0 adults 18-49 rating and 8.5 million viewers. Such a decline enabled “The Office,” which is already struggling sans Steve Carell, to take second place in the demo (behind “The X Factor”) at a mere 3.1.
ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels,” meanwhile, has to be nearing a cancellation. At a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 5.9 million viewers, it actually tied The CW’s “The Vampire diaries” in the demo. When an ABC series posts the same numbers as the CW series with which it goes head-to-head, it is in trouble.
