Jimmy Fallon Channels Elton John, Green Day to Honor “Lost,” “24,” “L&O”

Emmy host Jimmy Fallon has not held a massive presence in the first half of the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards, restricting much of his involvement to brief musical interludes and numbers. His second major number of the night, following the show-opening “Glee” tribute set to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” earned sizable laughs and bewilderment as he paid tribute to departing drama series “24,” “Law & Order” and “Lost.”

Fallon continues earning rave reviews for his comedic impressions of popular recording artists, and he used that skill to add comedic flare to the number. For the “24” send-off, he suited up as Elton John to perform “Candle in the Wind.” He showed off his Boyz II Men impression with “It’s so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” for “Law & Order” and then waved goodbye to “Lost” while performing “Time of Your Life” as Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.

Expect some YouTube search activity for the impressions.
