“Good Wife” Actress Archie Panjabi Scores Supporting Actress Emmy

The Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a drama series was viewed as one of the biggest acting toss-ups at the 62nd Annual awards show, and despite facing some fierce competition, it was “Good Wife” actress Archie Panjabi who walked away with the prize.

Panjabi could help “Good Wife” achieve a sweep in the actress department. Co-star Julianna Margulies is considered a frontrunner for the Lead Actress award, which was to be announced shortly (Update: Margulies failed to win; the award went to “The Closer”‘s Kyra Sedgwick).

Other nominees included “Mad Men” actresses Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss, “Burn Notices”‘s Sharon Gless, “The Good Wife”‘s Christine Baranski and “Damages”‘s Rose Byrne.
