“Glee”‘s Jane Lynch Predictably Wins Emmy Award for Supporting Actress

It is all about the newcomers at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards so far, as “Glee” joined “Modern Family” in the winners’ column.

In one of the more predictable announcements of the night, a night which otherwise features a number of toss-ups in the awards races, “Glee” star Jane Lynch scored the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy.

Lynch’s performance had been viewed as one of the standouts on all of television this year, and her victory was one of the night’s most bankable wins.

Lynch defeated “Modern Family” actresses Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, as well as “30 Rock”‘s Jane Krakowski, “Two and a Half Men”‘s Holland Taylor and “Saturday Night Live”‘s Kristen Wiig.
