Saints, Colts Draw Huge, Likely Record-Setting Super Bowl Ratings

With football as hot as it has been in a long time and a Super Bowl matchup that, on paper, was going to mean an offensive showdown, overnight ratings for Superbowl XLIV came in at record-breaking levels.

Last night’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts posted a 46.4 household rating, up about ten percent from last year’s number for the Steelers-Cardinals game.

If the number holds when the finals are released, it will go down as the most-watched Super Bowl of all-time and very likely crack the 100 million viewer mark.

More conclusive numbers will be released shortly.
