Super Bowl Sets Ratings Record, “Undercover Boss” Debuts Strongly

The New orleans Saints-Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl game lived up to the most optimistic of expectations, setting the all-time broadcast record with 106.5 million viewers.

In addition to becoming the first sports broadcast to ever top 100 million viewers, Super Bowl XLIV also dethroned MASH’s 105.97 million to become the most-watched telecast in history.

The strong Super Bowl performance provided a nice lead-in for CBS’ “Undercover Boss,” which bowed to 38.6 million, the highest post-Super Bowl telecast figure since a “Survivor” airing in 2001.
