Update 2: The alternate, “cabin in candlelight” version of Taylor Swift’s “cardigan” reached #1 on the US iTunes sales chart Thursday morning. It remains in the pinnacle position as of press time at 8:10AM ET.
The new edition of “cardigan” seized the throne from Blake Shelton’s “Happy Anywhere (featuring Gwen Stefani),” which had ruled the chart – and notably kept the original version of “cardigan” at bay – since Friday. The Blake Shelton-Gwen Stefani collaboration is now #2 on the all-genre listing.
The original version of “cardigan” follows at #3.
