ABC’s “Good Morning America” extension series is once again receiving a new name.
This name change, however, is more than a mere branding decision. It reflects the fact that the show is adding a third host to accompany Michael Strahan and Sara Haines.
With Keke Palmer joining the show on a full-time basis, the show will now be called “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.”
The show debuted last year as “GMA Day,” before becoming “Strahan & Sara” (“GMA: Strahan & Sara” in some branding).
While she is new to the full-time lineup, Palmer is no stranger to the show. She appeared as a co-host throughout the summer, chatting with some of the show’s biggest guests.
“It’s been a blast having Keke co-host this summer,” said executive producer Rory Albanese. “She brings a unique and spontaneous energy viewers love. She’s a multitalented artist, and I’m thrilled to have her join Michael and Sara every day. The three of them are a terrific team, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
While the show’s second season does not formally commence until September 9, the hosting change will take effect immediately.
