NF’s “The Search” Receives Sales Projection Upgrade; Chance The Rapper Still Pacing Slightly Ahead

Projections have this week’s US album race tightening.

NF’s “The Search” is not going down without a fight.

Initial projections had the new album tracking just slightly behind Chance The Rapper’s “The Big Day” for #1 on this week’s overall US album chart. New data on Monday gave Chance a more decisive lead.

A new update has NF’s album closing some of the gap, although Chance’s album is still pacing ahead.

According to Hits Daily Double, NF’s “The Search” is now pacing for 105-115K in first-week US consumption units. The publication expects 65-75K to come from pure sales, with the rest stemming from track sales and track streams.

“The Big Day” will post a lesser pure sales total in the 35-40K range, but it is tracking for a stronger 120-130K in overall consumption.

It is unclear whether NF’s album can close the gap as the week draws to a close, but it is clear the album should debut no lower than #2. It will also post the best single-week unit total of the artist’s career.
